Balance of the Force

Balance of the Force is Graham Sutton of Bark Psychosis making D&B from entirely outside it, drum & bass built by someone from the post-rock world with a completely different set of instincts. Boymerang brought a texture and a patience the genre rarely had, and the outsider's perspective produced something genuinely fresh. It ranks at a hundred and fifty-four because it's a one-off rather than part of a body of work, but the one-off is genuinely good, and its strangeness is its strength.
