Under the Against All Logic name, Nicolas Jaar chops soul and gospel samples into raw, functioning house tools on 2012 - 2017. 'This Old House Is All I Have' opens on a gospel loop left almost untouched, and 'Rave On U' closes on ten minutes of it going nowhere politely. The energy is more discovery-driven than his ambient work. That sample logic quickly became a reference point for a new wave of house production.
