The gremlin laugh is a genre signature in its own right. He ran Aftershock, produced for Kano, Wiley and Ruff Sqwad, and defined the RnG sound: ruthless drums with real musicality underneath them. Dark Crawler is the high point of instrumental grime as an album form and shows how much melody was always hiding in the aggression.
