Brian McBride and Adam Wiltzie stretched orchestral fragments past the point of recognition and then held them there for twenty minutes. The Ballasted Orchestra is drone that never raises its voice, made in Austin by two people with no interest in being ambient's headline act. McBride died in 2023.
