Rob Ellis ran Tectonic out of Bristol and pulled dubstep west, away from Croydon's aggression and toward space and dub. Underwater Dancehall gave the sound room to move in, brought in vocalists when nobody else was, and made the case that the genre could hold an album rather than a run of plates.
