Philippe Aubin-Dionne defined the glowing, vocal-chopped sound that half the early 2010s then borrowed. He runs Vase out of Montreal, remixes widely, and keeps the emotional register high without ever tipping into sentiment. Dawn Chorus is the most complete version of that sound, made after most of its imitators had already moved on.
