Christian Fennesz ran a guitar through a laptop and found sunlight where everyone else was finding noise. He came out of the Vienna scene around Mego, and his processing keeps just enough of the original instrument to register as memory rather than abstraction. Endless Summer melted pop nostalgia into glitch and set the tone for a decade.
