Bicep builds its crossover appeal from breakbeat-house and techno that still feels rooted in club mechanics. 'Glue' is the obvious emotional center, but the album works because that same mix of lift, melancholy and rhythmic clarity carries beyond the single. 'Vespa' at eighty-seven seconds is the only place the record pauses for breath.
